Chapter 1 The Heart Whisperer Who Was Sacrificed
Chapter 1 The Heart Whisperer Who Was Sacrificed
Inside the underground cave passage, luminous crystals embedded in the cave walls illuminated the path for the three people.
"Hey! Hurry up, stop dawdling!"
"ah!"
Yanami was kicked by the man behind her. Although the kick wasn't very strong, it still made Yanami stagger and fall to the ground.
The man looked at Yanami, who had been kicked down, and wiped the soles of his shoes on the nearby weeds with a hint of annoyance.
"I'm hungry... I can't walk."
The hood on Yanami's robe fell off.
"Hahaha, Bourne, did you hear that? The Blue Fairy still wants to eat. That's the biggest joke I've heard all day, hahaha." The man turned around and spoke to his companion with a mocking tone.
When Yanami heard the derogatory term "blue fairy," she pursed her lips and lowered her head, covering her head with her thin hands, her unique blue hair peeking out from between her fingers.
"Stop playing around, Rol, get her moving. We just need to do our jobs."
Bourne glanced at Yanami, not out of pity, though he didn't want Raoul to continue.
Moreover, he didn't want to mess with this girl like that idiot did.
"Alright, alright, did you hear that, Blue Fairy? Our great philanthropist, Bourne, wants me to take pity on you."
Rol gave a sarcastic smile and looked at Yanami with disgust.
"You want something to eat, right? Here you go."
He took a piece of dried meat from his bag and held it out to Yanami noodles.
Yanami trembled slightly, and hesitantly raised her head, revealing her blue-eyed eyes.
*Thud*—The dried meat was thrown on the ground.
"Alright, eat now, lie on the ground like a mushroom pig and eat."
A twisted, mocking smile played on Luo Er's face. It would be best if he could see her pick it up and eat it; at the very least, he would be happy to see the fairy's tears.
"Haha, eating on the ground with such a pretty face, just thinking about it is hilarious."
However, Yanami just stared blankly at the jerky on the ground, quietly clenched her fist and then relaxed it, then struggled to get up and silently continued to walk.
Luo Er paused for a moment, then pouted unhappily.
"Tch, this is so boring..."
Not seeing the show he wanted, Rohr raised his foot again, aiming it at Yanami's ankle joint.
"Alright, Luo Er, we still have a long way to go."
Luo Er's movements stopped abruptly when his shoulder was tugged.
"Tsk, what are you pretending for?"
"We're almost at Wild Dog Forest. Although it poses no threat to us, have you forgotten? There's a demonic tide going on right now. If she can't walk anymore, can you carry her through?"
Faced with Bourne's questioning, Roll couldn't refute it, rolled his eyes, and withdrew his foot.
"If it weren't for this burden, we would have arrived long ago."
"Don't forget, Rol, we also need her ability to communicate with other creatures to appease that monster."
"Bourne, you're as boring as a stone."
"Whether I'm interesting or not doesn't matter; what matters is that we can get rid of that damn mark after this trip."
Once they complete the mission, they will be able to remove the brand and regain their freedom.
"Yes, yes, our commander."
Although he was very dissatisfied, Raoul did not dare to turn against him. Firstly, they had to complete the mission together, and secondly, Raoul knew Bourne's strength.
Rol glanced at the crimson magic sword at Bourne's waist. If he remembered correctly, that sword had the power to devour flesh and blood, and Rol knew how terrifying that sword was.
Although he couldn't do anything to the girl on the way, after the mission was completed...
Putting aside their greedy desires, Rol and Bourne continued on their way.
After passing through the passage, they arrived at a larger cave.
The towering cave ceiling, the enormous crystals providing illumination, and the various exotic plants make it resemble a forest.
The three of them, in order to hurry on their journey, walked along a path overrun by wild animals.
"Blue Fairy, remember to behave yourself when you get there. If you can't appease that monster, I'll have to make do with myself. Someone like you—"
"I know."
Yanami didn't turn around, but coldly answered Rol. Even though her feet were blistered, she still forced herself to keep walking.
"If you know, then hurry up!"
"Shh! Don't speak, Rol."
Byrne, who was standing next to Rol, suddenly interrupted him, gripping the hilt of his sword and looking warily into the depths of the forest.
"What?"
Luo Er also became alert and gripped the two swords at his waist.
"I don't know... this doesn't seem good."
Luo Er concentrated intently on channeling his spiritual energy; it seemed as if something deep within the forest was watching them…
Seeing their posture, Yanami carefully and quietly moved behind them, slowly retreating—*snap*.
"ah!"
"What?!"
Attracted by Yanami's sudden scream, Byrne and Rol turned around at the same time, where a huge plant was trembling.
"A man-eating plant?!"
Yanami was swallowed.
It's so dark... What is that? A man-eating plant?
Yanami frantically braced herself against the surroundings, but she couldn't budge the sturdy man-eating plant's gaping maw. The leaf walls were covered in a sticky liquid, and Yanami felt her hands go numb.
"What?! Why is there something like this here?! It must be that blue fairy who summoned it—no, no!"
"Roll!"
At the same time, Raul's screams came from outside. Yanami couldn't see anything, but the fear coming from outside was so intense that she could sense it even without activating her abilities.
--------
Somewhat like a Venus flytrap, it has a stem that extends from the ground connected to a powerful, serrated mouth. It usually disguises itself as an ordinary plant, attracting prey with its unique scent. When it senses its prey, it swallows it whole and locks it in place.
It's simply a highly efficient hunting tool!
Furthermore, captured prey will be isolated from magical perception, and its scent will be masked by the smell of man-eating plants, preventing other animals from snatching the prey away.
Klein felt the vibrations emanating from the man-eating plant and couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.
Klein has been in this fantasy world for two months and has finally managed to inhabit something good.
Oh ho ho ho, after parasitizing the man-eating plant, he won't have to worry about food and drink anymore—although Klein doesn't need to eat at all.
Unexpectedly, the man-eating plant caught its prey on the very first day of parasitism. As a plant, Klein was far too slow to simply rely on its roots to absorb nutrients; it was clear that it had to become a hunter.
[Parasitism LV1: Can be activated when a seed takes root and parasitizes a plant. Consumes mana to parasitize the plant; once parasitism is successful, it can be controlled via vines.]
[Probability: The more powerful an object is, the lower its probability; the weaker an object is, the higher its probability.]
[Mana Cost: 50]
[Upgrade: The more powerful the monster you parasitize, the more experience you gain.]
Klein's soul moved along the vines and finally arrived at the location of the man-eating plant. The vines around him were all Klein's body, but his mental power was limited and he could not control all parts, so he could only move his soul to the parts he wanted to control.
The carnivorous plant's two leaf sacs closed, indicating it had caught two prey; they were still trembling slightly, indicating they were alive.
Normally, prey would be slowly killed by digestive fluids, but Klein would kill them himself.
Firstly, to keep the man-eating plant working, and secondly, Klein wanted to gain more experience as quickly as possible.
As long as Klein fights or kills monsters, he will gain the experience needed to level up and then acquire the characteristics of other plants.
