Chapter 2011 - 1020: Such a Teacher
"I smell the fragrance of melon."
Dorothy silently approached Sophia and Senior Mia, then opened ’Calm as Still Water,’ lowering their presence. Finally, she took a watermelon out of her pocket, chopped it with the edge of her palm, and shared it with her sisters. Even senior Fanny extended a tentacle to take a slice.
The four little witches sat in a row and entered the melon-eating mode.
Meanwhile, the argument between Mother Dragon and Spider Teacher continued, with their many years of friendship bringing out all sorts of embarrassing histories, making the melon eaters feel stuffed and satisfied.
"Rosie, I thought you made some name for yourself over the years and changed your ways, but how come you still won’t reform, being so lazy."
Euphilia said angrily, disappointed by her lack of progress.
For a driven and ambitious woman like Mother Dragon, nothing was more frustrating than seeing someone with talent wasting it on aimlessness.
Even though talent belongs to others and they can waste it if they want, it’s another thing when it’s your close friend and even your daughter’s teacher. It feels like family, and Mother Dragon ends up feeling regret for their wasted potential.
"Senior, Ancient Eastern Universe saying goes, you can change the land but not one’s nature; I am this kind of person, unable to change. Just give up; even my mothers couldn’t persuade me, let alone you."
Noelle Rose indeed feared the senior before her but wouldn’t easily yield when it came to her core beliefs.
"Speaking of your mothers, the two aunties consulted me about your recent conditions not long ago: they care about you very much. You should be considerate of them; it’s been decades since you last went home, right? You should go back and just apologize a little."
Mother Dragon urged once more.
All these years, Rosie hasn’t gone home, and her only friends are just Mother Dragon and Violet, but Violet is always staying in Japan and unreachable by outsiders. So, Rosie’s mothers can only turn to Mother Dragon.
If this had been in the past, Euphilia would have just brushed it aside, naturally aligning with Rosie as a close friend.
But now Euphilia is a mother herself, with her perspective naturally changed from her girlhood days. Especially after experiencing the despair of having her daughter not around, without a word, she empathizes deeply with the two aunties.
Therefore, in recent decades, Euphilia has grown increasingly familiar with the two aunties—almost like a friendship between generations—and is nearly upgraded from Rosie’s close friend to one of Rosie’s mothers’ buddies, essentially Rosie’s aunt.
Well, it makes sense, as Mother Dragon now has a daughter, putting her on a different generational level compared to the perpetually single Spider Witch. People without children aren’t included in maternal groups.
"Senior, you’ve changed; you weren’t like this before. And how can you criticize me when you’re far more aggressive; at least I just ran away from home—didn’t you send quite a few elders off to farm potatoes and they still haven’t returned to this day?"
Noelle Rose couldn’t accept any of this, with the Spider Witch glaring wide-eyed, filled with the pain of being betrayed by a close friend.
She never imagined the best friend who once stood together on the front lines of resisting elder oppression would turn traitor, senior, you’ve unconsciously become the person you once despised.
Hmph, no matter; even if I, Noelle Rose, face betrayal by a dear friend and must endure the pain alone against an enemy, I will still stride proudly through the world.
Spider Witch thought to herself.
Only, her pride quickly shattered by a righteous iron fist.
"Senior, you actually hit me? My mothers never even hit me!"
Noelle Rose cried out in pain, clutching her head and rolling on the ground.
She truly didn’t understand where her senior’s punch came from. Normally, her puppet body shouldn’t feel pain, especially since she turned off the sensory simulation module. Why does it still hurt so much?
Moreover, it’s not just the puppet body hurting—in the depths beneath the Witch Academy, the real Noelle Rose lying in bed in her pajamas suddenly hugged her head, rolling across the bed.
Senior, your punch damage is all real, that’s absurd.
"You act like it’s my first time hitting you."
Mother Dragon replied moodily.
In truth, she isn’t usually so hot-tempered toward others, but Rosie has been a problem child since school days, always dressed as a flamboyant rebel. Meeting her initially involved mutual punching.
"Oh, that’s right, it’s been a hundred years since senior last hit me, I hadn’t reacted right away."
Spider Witch, stimulated by the pain, recollected her past dominated by senior’s iron fist fears.
Yes, she’s eternally mixed feelings about Euphilia Senior—fearing yet respecting—because Senior really could hit people spontaneously, especially with this inexplicably powerful yet painless miraculous boxing that left lasting impact.
"Besides, I’m not like you, okay? Those elders I sent to farm potatoes weren’t merely offending me—they were parasites of the Yemengade Family. How can a family thrive under a swarm of bugs? That’s why I first cleared the internal threat before dealing externally. But you, Rosie?"
