Tianma territory is very rich.
Vast, open grasslands stretch endlessly, the wind blowing the waist-high grass into layers of green waves, with flocks of sheep and cows scattered among them.
Ella leaned against the car window: "Chu Sheng! It's a cow!"
She pointed to a group of cows grazing in the distance, her tail slapping against Silverleaf's face with excitement.
Ever since she drank fresh milk, she has developed a fervent love for this black and white creature.
Yinye huddled in the corner of the carriage, her pointed ears drooping, looking like she hadn't woken up yet.
"Ella," she said weakly, "can you be quiet for a second? Get your tail away!"
"But there are cows outside!" Ella turned her head, her dog ears twitching. "Silverleaf, look! That cow is licking its calf! Just like Ella licks Chu Sheng!"
Chu Sheng was shocked: "When did you ever lick me?"
"While you're asleep."
Chu Sheng remained silent for a moment, then decided not to press the matter further.
Amber held a cup of tea in her hand. From the moment she got into the car until now, her gaze had been fixed on the scenery outside the window, her emerald-gold eyes filled with a gentle curiosity.
"This land is very flat," she said softly. "There are fewer and fewer trees, and the sky is getting wider and wider."
"That's the terrain of Pegasus Territory," Arthur's voice came from the front of the carriage. "The Griffin Mountains block the cold air from the north, and the melting snow on the southern slopes forms several large rivers, making this plain exceptionally fertile. Half of the empire's northern grain and dairy products come from here."
"So Tianma Territory is very wealthy?" Chu Sheng asked with some envy.
“Very wealthy.” Arthur paused. “The lord of Pegasus Territory, Mira von Whitehorse, also known as Lady Mira, whom I just mentioned, is one of the wealthiest nobles in the empire, with caravans traversing the entire northern border of the empire.”
"Sounds like a business genius." Amber gently put down her teacup.
"Not only that. She inherited the position of lord at the age of twenty-three, and within three years she completely sidelined the three major vassal families of Tianma Territory, supporting a group of small and medium-sized merchant caravans to take their place. The empire once wanted her to marry a prince, but she directly petitioned the emperor to refuse, exchanging ten years of pastoral taxes for a hereditary imperial charter."
"Impressive." Amber seemed quite interested in these stories and nodded approvingly.
Chu Sheng's attention was drawn to another detail: "Wait, you said she inherited the lordship at twenty-three? What about her father?"
"She died of illness, leaving no male heir. According to the Imperial Succession Law, she inherited the title and land as the only daughter."
"Then why would she want a handsome young man like me?" Chu Sheng crossed his arms warily. "Is she trying to find a gigolo to keep her as a mistress?"
"I don't know." Arthur's ahoge curled up. "She kept her distance from everyone. Whether it was an imperial envoy,
Whether they were neighboring nobles or wealthy merchants, she always received them in a strictly businesslike manner, never keeping them for private conversations, nor attending any banquets or balls.
"So what does she usually do?"
Arthur thought for a moment: "It is said that she spends most of her time in Whitewing City handling government affairs, and occasionally goes out to inspect the ranches and trade routes."
Yinye muttered to herself, "She sounds like a boring old woman."

Around noon, the pastures on both sides of the road are gradually replaced by more open grasslands.
Occasionally, you can see a few lonely big trees on the grassland, their canopies like giant open umbrellas, and under their shade, a few lazy sheep always lie.
"There's some noise ahead." Arthur suddenly slowed down the car.
Chu Sheng leaned out of the car window and saw a group of figures moving rapidly on the horizon.
They were incredibly fast, faster than ordinary horses. As they drew closer, Chu Sheng finally made out the figures.
Centaur!
A dozen or so centaurs were galloping across the grassland. Their upper bodies were human and their lower bodies were horse-like. Their hooves were flying and their manes were fluttering in the wind.
Centaurs are a full size larger than ordinary horses, with well-developed muscles and skin that gleams with a bronze sheen in the sunlight.
The lead centaur was exceptionally tall, with the upper body of a strong and beautiful woman, her long brown hair braided into several thin braids that flew behind her as she ran.
Her lower body was that of a chestnut horse, she carried a longbow in her hand, had a quiver on her back, and a curved sword hanging at her waist.
Her eyes were slightly upturned, giving her a wildness unique to nomadic peoples of the grasslands.
The centaur caravan sped past the carriage, and the female centaur at the head of the procession turned her head as she passed by, casting a curious glance at the carriage.
Ella's dog ears perked up instantly, and she let out a low growl.
The centaur woman merely grinned, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth, before turning and leading her group forward, quickly disappearing into the waves of grass.
"Centaur," Arthur said after they disappeared. "One of the original inhabitants of Pegasus Territory. The centaur tribe lived on this grassland before the empire was founded. Later, the Whitehorse family brought them into the Pegasus Territory system through trade and marriage, and now they are the best herdsmen, hunters, and cavalrymen in Pegasus Territory."
"A marriage alliance?" Chu Sheng asked, somewhat eager. "Centaur and human can have children?"
"The hybrid offspring of centaurs and humans are either humanoid or centaur-like, depending on the mother's race. But regardless of the form, these hybrids are physically much stronger than pure-blooded humans. Pegasus Territory has several centaur families, some of whom have been knighted."
"She was watching us just now." Ella stared warily in the direction the centaur had disappeared.
"She's probably just curious." Arthur shook the reins again. "The centaur tribe rarely sees canines from the south, let alone you baring your teeth at them through the car window."
Ella shrank back, looking aggrieved. "I wasn't baring my teeth, I was just being friendly."
"You're showing your friendliness by baring your teeth?" Silver Leaf was speechless.
"Back in the windmill village, baring teeth meant friendliness! All the dogs in the village did that!"
Yinye covered her face wearily: "When will you be able to accept the fact that you're not really a dog?"
"But Chu Sheng said I'm a good dog!"
That's an insult!
"Really?" Ella turned to look at Chu Sheng, her eyes filled with shock at being betrayed.
Chu Sheng looked out the window without changing his expression: "Look, a celestial horse."
Unlike the four domesticated winged horses that pulled the cart, the wild winged horses were larger and had wider wings.
They leaped out from behind a low hill and glided across the grassland. The lead Pegasus had a wingspan of seven or eight meters, its feathers shimmering with a faint silver light in the sunlight.
Ella's gaze was drawn to them: "They're flying! Chu Sheng, look! They're really flying!"
The four tamed winged horses snorted in unison, turned their heads sharply, and pretended not to see their free-roaming counterparts.
Arthur sighed, "Wild Pegasus horses can't actually fly; they can only glide. This is an unavoidable genetic defect from hybridization experiments. But every summer, they still glide and run from the mountains in the north of Pegasus Territory to the grasslands in the south to breed, and then return in the fall."
Amber looked at the white figures that flashed by: "So beautiful."
Looking at the profile of her face, Chu Sheng felt that her words were more suitable to describe herself.
The herd of horses quickly disappeared, the carriage continued forward, and new figures appeared on the grassland.
