Chapter 48 Miracle
Chapter 48 Miracle
Before we arrived, Arthur had explained that the elves in the Elven Royal Court were the royal family of the elves, possessing the purest elven bloodline, and that they had been blessed with children by the sacred tree since ancient times.
Therefore, they are all female, because they are all children of the sacred tree. But because of this, their population is very small, remaining at around ten thousand.
Legend has it that the earliest male elf can be traced back thousands of years. At that time, a royal elf intermarried with a human from the outside world, which resulted in the birth of the first male elf in the history of the continent.
Nowadays, the other male and female elves live in villages and towns on the outskirts of the Sacred Tree Forest, and have integrated into human society. Some elves even intermarry with other races.
Of course, the grey elves in the Grey Realm are an exception. Their ancestors have lived in the Sacred Tree Forest for generations, with both men and women, and they reproduced normally. As a result, they were ostracized by the elven royal family and considered unclean.
Silverleaf was shielded by Arthur by the door, her face grim. She was about to start the [Solo Band] when Arthur raised his hand to stop her.
"It's not time yet."
Yinye's lips moved slightly, and she took a step back.
Outside the door, the white-dressed elves surged forward again, and Arthur turned and drew his sword!
The holy sword swept across, and holy light exploded, blasting away the first row of elves. But the elves behind them stepped over their bodies and continued forward. Their faces still wore uniform smiles, and even though their limbs were bent at strange angles and their chests were scorched black by the holy light, they did not flinch in the slightest.
Arthur frowned; he couldn't care less whether these monsters' bodies were truly those of elves.
If she doesn't go all out soon, the other side will use their numerical advantage to exhaust them first.
A white-dressed elf dangled upside down from above the doorway, her silver thread aimed straight for Arthur's nape. Ella lunged from the side, biting her wrist and yanking her off the ceiling, slamming her to the ground.
"Don't touch her!" Ella roared fiercely.
The next second, she was kicked in the side by another elf and rolled away.
Chu Sheng immediately rushed over, grabbed the silver plate from the ground, and smashed it into the elf's face. The silver plate dented with a "bang," and the elf's head was twisted to one side, but slowly turned back.
Chu Sheng looked at her face, which was gradually returning to normal, and his face darkened.
"Are you guys immune to pain?"
The elf reached out to grab him, but Chu Sheng slipped and dodged by hugging the foot of the bed, while also pulling the fallen Ella back with him.
Ella got up, rubbed her back, and almost cried from the pain.
"Chu Sheng, she kicked me!"
"I saw it." Chu Sheng pushed her behind Arthur. "Hold your grudges and get in line first. We're too busy right now."
Ella looked aggrieved, but still obediently shrank behind Arthur.
She wasn't weak; she was at least much stronger than the average person. But in a battle of this caliber, like Chu Sheng, all she could do was pick off the weak points and exploit loopholes.
Only Arthur could truly hold the line.
The holy sword fell again and again, and countless beams of light shot out tirelessly, leaving the palace riddled with holes.
Meanwhile, more and more tender shoots quietly sprouted from Amber's fingertips. These shoots slowly crawled along the foot of the bed, in the cracks of the wall, and in the fissures of the floor. Whenever a silver thread tried to get close to Arthur, the shoot would gently wrap around it, deflecting the silver thread half an inch to the side.
Estelle finally noticed her odd behavior, glanced down at her, and laughed.
"Your Majesty, do you still wish to resist?"
Amber did not answer.
Estelle stepped down, crushing several tender buds, and green sap splattered onto her white shoes.
Amber's face darkened on the bed, clearly indicating that she had suffered a severe blow.
"Feed!" Chu Sheng suddenly called out.
Estelle looked up, and Chu Sheng took out the two keys from his pocket and waved them in front of her.
"Do you want to?"
Estelle smiled: "Of course."
"Then go get it yourself!" Chu Sheng suddenly tossed one of the keys to Arthur.
Arthur and his team worked together seamlessly. With a single sword strike, they repelled the elf outside the door, and then caught the key with his left hand.
She enveloped the key in holy light without even looking down, and then with a flick of her wrist, the key flew into the lock on Amber's waist at an incredible speed!
The lock clicked, but didn't open.
Arthur's expression changed, and Chu Sheng was dumbfounded.
Estella chuckled, a laugh unlike a fake one, one that carried a genuine joy.
"Mr. Chusheng, you're so lovely," she said slowly. "That's the key to the foot lock."
Chu Sheng's face darkened. Estella raised her hand, and silver threads emerged from the cracks in the floor, tightly wrapping around Chu Sheng's waist, and forcefully slammed him against the wall.
Ella barked and pounced on Chu Sheng, slamming them both against the wall. Ella cushioned the impact, letting out a muffled groan.
"Ella!" Chu Sheng felt a pang of heartache and quickly bent down to check on her condition.
"It's okay..." Ella winced in pain, but still held Chu Sheng in her arms. "Ella is so chubby."
Chu Sheng struggled to get up and reached for another key in his pocket.
This is the one that's the hand lock, but Estelle won't give him a second chance.
More and more elves gathered outside the door, and they began to chant in unison, their voices overlapping and sending chills down one's spine.
The bark of the trees outside the bedchamber cracked open, and countless silver threads emerged from the depths of the wood, spreading rapidly along the door frames, window frames, and walls. The silver threads didn't rush to attack them; instead, they wove themselves into a dense net on the outside.
They're going to seal off the entire palace!
Arthur reacted swiftly, slashing out with his sword. The holy light cleaved through the outermost silver net, but the silver threads behind immediately filled in.
Esta's gaze fell on the white crowd outside the queen's bedchamber. Thousands of elves had completely surrounded the queen's palace, and the exit was getting narrower and narrower.
"I originally only wanted you all to leave, but you all insisted on coming back." Her voice was gentle. "In that case, then none of you should leave."
She lowered her head, her tone finally revealing an barely suppressed sense of pride.
"Your Majesty, do you see this? This is the help you've been waiting for. A human who took the wrong key, a knight who dared not exert his full strength, a foolish dog-man, and a lowly gray elf."
Yinye's face darkened: "Say that again?"
Esta's smile deepened: "Your Majesty, there will be no miracle this time."
She leaned down and whispered in Amber's ear, "You lost."
"The Sacred Tree Forest has long since lost its elven royal family. What is the point of you guarding this throne, this forest, and an empty royal court?"
"You dare to talk about meaning?" Amber looked up at her, her eyes full of mockery. "You don't even dare to say who you are."
The bedchamber was quiet for a moment. Estella slowly straightened up, and a slight movement stirred deep within her pale golden pupils.
"Who I am is unimportant." She raised her hand, which flashed with silver light. "What's important is that you should be quiet."
Arthur took a sudden step forward, but the elf statues outside the door had been waiting for this moment, and dozens of silver threads simultaneously wrapped around her sword. Holy light exploded from the sword, breaking half of the silver threads, but the remaining half held the holy sword firmly in place.
Chu Sheng knew it was his turn to step up.
He gripped the key tightly and rushed towards the bedside, but before Estádio could even blink, the vines tripped Chu Sheng's ankle. He fell forward, just a few steps from the edge of the bed.
Ella knew it was her turn.
She tried to rush over, but two elves who crawled in through the window grabbed her arms and dragged her back.
Yinye knew it was her turn.
But suddenly!
"puff."
A very soft, muffled thud.
Esta stopped moving, her hand hovering above Ambermind's head, unable to fall. At the same moment, the chanting outside the bedchamber also went off-beat.
She looked down at her chest.
Between those two majestic mountains, a slender blade pierced through her heart.
There was no blood on the tip of the knife, only grayish-white viscous fluid dripping down the blade and onto her platinum dress.
Chu Sheng lay on the ground and looked up.
There was someone standing behind Estelle without her noticing.
