Chapter 691 Just one
Chapter 691 Just one
In that direction, one thousand kilometers away, one would find the border between the magic people and the human territory... while the dragons were causing them trouble, they didn't have any reason to help the humans.
Deep in thought, that perplexing question lingered in Rain's mind. If there indeed existed an individual with the capability to take down dragons so fast, a formidable force that could potentially alter the course of their war, why had this person not been deployed against him directly?
The mystery deepened as Rain questioned the selective use of such a potent asset, especially when considering the broader conflict they were engaged in.
A seed of doubt sprouted in Rain's thoughts as he speculated about the motives behind this potential dragon-slayer's actions. Was it a deliberate strategy to only unleash this force against the dragons, or was there a more complex interplay of alliances and allegiances at play?
Rain soon heard more noise and roars in the distance... more dragons were causing trouble, so Rain flew as fast as he could to see what was going on. The same thing happened several times, but Rain only found corpses, until he stopped finding dragons altogether.
"What just happened here..." Rain thought while blinking several times. "Something... just killed fifty dragons in half an hour..."

Forget about how much experience that person got... such a being was already strong to the point that dragons could be considered small fries.
Rain tried to find sources of mana to identify the possible person who did that, but he didn't find anything, and that only added to the mystery.
"... I have to return and talk with the others," Rain thought. "I don't know who helped us, but we still have more than one hundred dragons to kill."
When the sun was about to set, the group found some refugees already heading to the capital. It wasn't the first time that they were forced to leave their homes, so they didn't hesitate in traveling light... despite that, they could feel the trembling under their feet intensifying, showing that the monsters were getting closer.
"Did they give up on invading our territory with the ocean?" Rain thought. "This speed is just too much."
Soon enough, Rain confirmed what was going on... the Kraken and the leviathan dragons were moving while firing water in all directions... and that was enough for them to move a bit faster since they could slide on it, even if there were only a few centimeters of it.
Rain assumed that the losses of their dragon companions had compelled the remaining dragons to reassess their strategy. The alteration in their plan suggested a reluctance to retreat without achieving some significant objective, especially after enduring the devastating blow of losing a considerable portion of their forces.
It was evident that the dragons, now pressed against the wall, sought an alternative course of action to salvage their mission and make their sacrifices worthwhile. The altered tactics and heightened aggression hinted at a desperate despair to secure some form of victory in the face of adversity.
Before long, they found some giant shadows in the distance... they were the dragons. It was quite something to see the leviathan dragons for the first time. As such, Rain's wives and the warriors of the raging Phoenix opened their eyes widely.
"Did you defeat that?" Terra asked.
"Only one, and there are seventy more," Rain lowered his voice in order not to decrease the morale of the group. I am looking forward to this night, it will be one heck of a long night."
Before long, the monsters suddenly fired massive blasts of water toward them, but Rain used his own magic to block the attack. When the water fell on the ground and below everyone's feet, Rain froze it and made everyone levitate.
"Focus on attacking when you have the chance, don't drop your guard even though I will be controlling your movements!" Rain shouted.
