Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 688 Monster hunting

Chapter 688 Monster hunting

When the monster found Rain again, he quickly disappeared. The creature felt the danger for its life and then tried to hide inside a water cyclone, but when the monster suddenly raised its tentacles to Summon all that water, the creature suddenly stopped moving, and then a hole appeared in its forehead.

Rain appeared behind the creature, already wearing his ice armor that was extended from his forearm and shin guards. He used all his focus and a bunch of mana to summon the armor and then fly toward the head of the monster and kill it instantly.

Still, he didn't expect that he would be able to pull that off so easily... it cost one-third of his mana, but he was so fast that he wasn't even covered in blood or flesh.

The skill Bloodthirst Anger received 30.000 experience points.

The skill Relentless Speed received 30.000 experience points.

The skill Iron Resilience received 30.000 experience points.

The High Human Path leveled up. All parameters + 50

Ancient Health (Level 10) - Grants you wisdom about age-old health practices, granting exceptional physical resilience and accelerated recovery from injuries and illnesses. Ten points of health per level.

Rain didn't have time to equip that skill, even though it seemed like one that would make him a lot tougher. Somehow, the leviathan dragon got closer even though it was supposed to be five hundred meters away, and in an instant, it swung down its tail to smash Rain.

Rain canceled his ice armor since it consumed too much mana and then assumed a defensive stance with his palms pointed at the giant beast. Rain could see in the eyes of the monster how much the creature found that amusing... as if any defensive stance would make a difference in that scenario.

The beast jumped away to smash Rain again, but he kept his posture until the last moment... when the monster thought that Rain was a goner, he used Impulse and then stopped five hundred meters away while his body was emitting a lot of steam... the attacks of the monster raised a lot of dust in the area, and Rain collided with a bunch of that and thanks to it, his body began to heat.

Nevertheless, Rain kept his stance and waited for the monster... the leviathan dragon knew that Rain was in a hurry, so such a move wasn't the best. As someone who had the aura of a dragon slayer who killed dozens of dragons, it was hard to imagine how Rain survived for that long with that level of strategy.

The massive beast kept jumping around and trying to hit Rain, but he avoided the hits. At the same time, his body stopped overheating for some reason... it didn't take long for the beast to sense Rain using his magic to protect himself from the dust with a magic shield.

Not only that, Rain was using Impulse using ice magic under his feet, and that explained why his speed increased... the goal of the dragons was to destroy the human capital and scatter their forces... keeping Rain busy there would serve that well, but the leviathan dragon didn't like the fact that a single human was giving it so much trouble.

The colossal form of the leviathan dragon suddenly trembled, a subtle but perceptible quiver running through its massive frame. As this happened, Rain, attuned to the flow of mana, felt a surge in the magical energy around him. The mana levels in the immediate area began to escalate, reaching a point where the very air seemed to vibrate with newfound power.

The atmosphere crackled with the magic energy as the leviathan dragon, in its foreboding presence, seemingly triggered an amplification of magical forces. The surroundings pulsed with an invisible energy, creating a sensation as if the very fabric of reality was responding to the dragon's immense power.

It was a moment of tension and trepidation as the mystical forces at play intensified, leaving Rain witnessing the spectacle in a state of heightened awareness and anticipation.

In the next moment, some massive walls of an area surrounded Rain and the giant beast... the walls easily reached the clouds, so escaping them would be hard. Considering the mana levels on them, Rain could also tell that those would be insanely thick... ordinary attacks against that won't work.
