Chapter 6 Clash
Chapter 6 Clash
Du…
Outside the door, the gloved fingers had not yet touched the dilapidated door.
Then they heard the boy's cold and indifferent voice coming from inside the door.
"Come in, the door's unlocked."
Several men in stand-up collar black trench coats exchanged glances.
The script seems a little different?
Immediately, the leader twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open.
With a creak, the somewhat dilapidated door was gently pushed open.
The Western-style chandelier on the ceiling was on, its white light illuminating the room brightly.
From the window seat, "Su Changming" watched the several late-night visitors with a half-smile.
The leader, wearing a black trench coat with a stand-up collar, was a thin young man who looked to be around thirty years old. His skin was pale and bloodless.
Seeing this scene before them, although it was somewhat different from what they had expected, their expressions remained unchanged as they stepped into the room with the "clack-clack-clack" of their black leather shoes.
The people following behind quickly entered and then closed the door.
The already cramped hotel room suddenly felt even more crowded.
Su Changming frowned almost imperceptibly.
So, with a casual wave of his hand, the door that had just been closed slammed open again.
A cold wind blew in, dispersing some of the stale air inside the door, and Su Changming's expression relaxed a little.
However, this one move immediately made the young man, who was about to speak, choke on his words.
The people behind them felt a chill run down their spines; they had clearly felt a powerful aura brush past them.
It was chilling and eerie.
Was that sword energy?
The group instantly recalled the sights they had seen aboard the Victoria.
The mountain of monster corpses, each with a smooth, mirror-like cut, many cleanly and neatly split in two.
Even a day later, the lingering sharpness in the cabin still sent shivers down one's spine.
Was it really this ridiculously young boy in front of us who did all that?
They were somewhat surprised and uncertain.
According to internal departmental discussions, there should have been another person in that cabin at the time.
The third young master of the Su family in front of us is more likely just a lucky witness.
However, the reality now is that he accomplished all of this on his own.
The men's expressions changed instantly. Although they had official backing, the consequences of breaking into the residence of a gentry's son in the middle of the night were completely different from those of breaking into the residence of a martial arts master.
The young man in the lead waved his hand immediately, signaling the men behind him not to make any rash moves.
Then, looking at the young man sitting in the chair, he said respectfully, "I am Jiang Huai, the deputy captain of the Third Detachment of the Special Security Maintenance Division. Are you Su Changming in person?"
The young man spoke in a somewhat literary manner, unlike the speaking style of a military officer.
Su Changming simply fiddled with the gun in his hand, as if he hadn't heard anything, and didn't even raise his eyes.
The atmosphere in the room instantly became heavy. The group looked at each other and instinctively reached behind them.
"Click".
Just then, a faint sound of a revolver's safety being pulled back was heard.
The group instantly tensed up as if facing a formidable enemy, gripping the long, black object behind them tightly. The black cloth was spread out, revealing the sharp edge of a jet-black battle blade under the light.
At this moment, Su Changming finally spoke.
"Would you like to test whether your blades are faster or my sword is faster?"
Even at this moment, his expression and posture remained unchanged, as if it were just a trivial matter.
"You've misunderstood," Jiang Huai waved for the men to stop. "We just wanted to learn about some things on the Victoria, and we meant no harm."
"No malicious intent?"
A mocking smile appeared on Su Changming's lips.
"Armed with weapons, visiting in the dead of night—is that what you call having no malicious intent?"
"Let me tell you what it means to have no malicious intent."
Su Changming spoke in an icy tone, pointing his finger as if it were a sword, and casually swung it at one of the men in a high-necked black trench coat.
"careful!!"
The others were horrified, and Jiang Huai pushed off with his feet, leaping up to try and intercept them.
However, Su Changming's actions were too fast and too sudden!
It was so fast that their nerve responses simply couldn't keep up!
An invisible sword aura surged within the confined space, accompanied by a sharp whistling sound!
"clang--!!!"
A resounding clang, like the striking of a great bell, suddenly echoed through the room!
The invisible sword energy struck the black longsword that the team member in the middle had hastily parried!
The team member felt an overwhelming force coming from the blade, and his hand was instantly torn open, bleeding profusely.
He could no longer hold onto the long sword, which flew out of his hand, and he was so shaken that he staggered backward until his back slammed heavily against the wall, bringing him to a stop.
The jet-black longsword, made of a special material with exceptional hardness, broke into two pieces under this attack.
Su Changming then slowly stood up, looked at the group of people who were on high alert, and said calmly.
"See? I could have killed him, but I didn't. That's what it means to have no malicious intent."
"Snapped!"
"Snapped!"
"Snapped!"
Just as the room fell into a deathly silence, a series of crisp and powerful applause suddenly rang out from outside the door.
A middle-aged man wearing a military cap and with a resolute face walked in.
He was also wearing a black trench coat, but with an extra silver star on his shoulder.
Upon entering, the tense atmosphere among the members of the Demon Suppression Division instantly eased.
"Truly, heroes emerge from among the young!"
The middle-aged man took off his military cap, revealing a weathered face. A crisscrossing scar ran from the corner of his right eye to his left chin, almost splitting his face in two.
At this moment, a smile full of appreciation appeared on his face.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Yao Xian. I'm the captain of the third squad of the 'Special Security Maintenance Division,' which you often call the Demon Suppression Division, and also..."
The middle-aged man looked at the indifferent "Su Changming" and his smile widened.
"...Your future father-in-law."
"?"
Even Ling finally couldn't hold back anymore, and with a somewhat confused expression, she slowly asked the real Su Changming, whose body she had taken over and whose consciousness was now deep inside her, a question mark.
What exactly is going on here?
"I don't know him!" Su Changming was also completely bewildered.
Not only Su Changming's group, but Jiang Huai and the other members of the Demon Suppression Division also exchanged bewildered glances.
Their eyes seemed to say: I've never heard the boss mention this before!
The future father-in-law?
wrong.
A possibility suddenly popped into Su Changming's mind.
One of the most important reasons he went abroad to study was to escape an arranged marriage by his family.
It is said that it was an arranged marriage between his grandfather and the woman's grandfather before they were even born.
Due to the chaotic situation over the years, the two sides have not had the opportunity to meet and discuss the matter.
Su Changming had never met anyone from the other party's family.
He vaguely remembered his elders mentioning that the woman's surname was "Yao".
He thought that as long as he ran far enough away, this absurd marriage would come to nothing.
But to his utter surprise, he was caught red-handed by the other party's father in this place and in this situation.
Of course, all of this is predicated on...
Everything he said was true.
