Chapter 103 Confession
Chapter 103 Confession
In 1993, China was not at war; its people were doing everything they could to help it grow.
British wizards have been too self-important for too long, and their condescending gaze rarely falls upon the backward East.
Draco and Landric arrived in Shanghai as British nobles.
"Brother, this place looks pretty good. It's nothing like the war-torn place Mom described!"
Landric stepped back onto this land, and the faces at the bustling alleyway were both familiar and unfamiliar to him.
"Fifty or sixty years ago, this place was indeed engulfed in war."
He was staring at others, but some people were also secretly watching them.
Before arriving, Landric had changed his silver hair and purple eyes to match Draco's, which made the man keep getting close to him.
Draco's inner turmoil subsided somewhat, and he followed behind like a puppy.
There was no grand display, no pre-arranged welcome; the two of them wandered aimlessly, just like ordinary Muggles.
As time passed, Landric could always feel the gazes directed at him.
Curiosity, amazement, longing, envy... and perhaps a hint of malice.
Landric pulled Draco into a deserted little space, turning the two of them back into black-haired, black-eyed beings.
This time, there were far fewer eyes on him, and Draco could sense Landric's relaxation.
Landric observed and felt things little by little.
I wandered from Shanghai to Kyoto, then from Kyoto to Changsha and Changbai Mountain, and finally to the Central Plains.
They lay down in an endless field, gazing up at the blue and white clouds in the sky.
Draco asked curiously, "Brother, what are you looking for?"
He could tell that their journey was purposeful.
Landric seemed completely relaxed, yet utterly lost. "Searching for memories."
The person next to him casually uttered something unbelievable, but Draco didn't doubt it.
"Have you been here before, brother?"
He asked tentatively, "Did Aunt Tana bring you here? That's wonderful, this place is truly vast."
Landric chuckled lightly: "How could it attract tigers, leopards, and wolves if it weren't vast?"
"This is where I was born, and this is where I will die."
He didn't hear Draco's reply and continued talking to himself.
"I was born in Kyoto and died in Shanghai. The place we lie on is the place I used to play."
"From 2006 to 2011, I was confined and raised in a small alley in Kyoto for 5 years. Later, because of my good talent and good looks, I was taken to Shanghai and confined there."
He died in someone else's villa in 2022.
Draco couldn't find his own voice in his throat, and he keenly noticed 2016, 2011, and 2022.
Seeing that Landric had lost the will to continue, he forced himself to calm down and asked again, "But... isn't this only 1993?"
The violent contractions of his heart caused him pain. From 2006 to 2022, his brother was only 16 years old!
"Yes, I am Chinese."
Landric said it so easily.
His power enveloped Draco, capturing every single emotion of the man without missing a single detail.
"No, that's not right, brother! You're a wizard, you belong to the British magical world! You're Landric!"
Draco could not accept Landric applying his own definition to Chinese people.
His shared identity as a wizard was something he shared with Landric, and he didn't want his brother to deny his current identity.
Otherwise, what does it mean that they've lived together for over a decade?
"I am Chinese, but I am not from this world!"
Landric quickly sensed the jealousy and unease, and glanced at Draco with a raised eyebrow.
He propped his upper body up with his arms and kicked him lightly in the back with his feet.
Draco was struck by lightning.
It's one thing if they're not from one country, but how come the whole world isn't one either?
He sat up, moved closer to Landric, and leaned his upper body over Landric, tightly binding his waist.
Landric's abilities allowed him to clearly sense Draco's fear and insane possessiveness. The pain in his waist intensified, but he seemed oblivious, stroking the little golden retriever's head.
When the person started to gasp for breath, he hooked his fingers under the chin of the person on top of him and placed a kiss on his forehead.
"Relax"
Draco stared blankly at the person, not moving, as if something had exploded in front of him.
Landric sighed and repeated, "Let go, your hand."
"Oh, oh," a loud thumping sound in my ears.
Draco released his grip and placed it on his heart.
Landric clearly saw how Draco's ears became flushed and red within two seconds.
The round earlobes seemed to be turning pointed, and the temperature in my hands kept rising and getting hotter.
A knowing glint flashed in his eyes.
Landric quietly activated his bloodline.
Draco's brain completely shut down, and he didn't notice his body temperature starting to drop.
As the redness on Draco's face slowly faded, a snake hesitantly coiled itself around his wrist again.
Damn it, the beauty kissed the snake and then scalded it!
The snake swore that one day it would whip the golden-haired man's tail.
"Xiao Long, I take back what I said."
Landric was visibly pleased, looking at Draco with satisfaction.
Draco, confused, asked, "What?"
You won't like me in two years.
Draco was utterly shocked, not caring whether his brother would beat him up: "You're talking nonsense! How could I not like you? I love you to death! Even if you're not from this world, you can't pin this on me!"
He glared angrily at the purple pupils, determined to get an explanation from their owner.
Landric: That's a familiar way of swearing.
"Don't learn everything."
"Don't change the subject, you bastard!"
"I'm not saying I'm taking that back. I believe you will like me, and you will always like me, even to the point of not hesitating to die for me."
Draco was satisfied: "Yes, I love you, even if it means dying for you!"
The little golden retriever looked at Landric with sparkling eyes, its face beaming with happiness.
He looks like a cheerful, big boy, of course, if Landric doesn't have "empathy."
His overwhelming obsession was almost drowning him.
His intense and distorted love always gave him a sense of security.
This was the first time Landric had genuinely and willingly embraced Draco.
……
……
You seem to have gained weight.
Draco: ... "Alright, shut up."
