Lieutenant Dyester had reached the same conclusion before the departure, but Khan hoped his unique perspective would reveal different answers. That wasn't the case, so Khan could only resort to an overwhelming show of force.
That was the initial plan and something Khan was very strongly inclined toward. Politics aside, he was livid about his soldiers' deaths, and no amount of sex could appease that feeling. If anything, his anger grew as the Leviathan approached its destination.
The appointed planet was relatively nearby, closer than Senerth. The route was also known and protected so the Leviathan could move at full speed, disregarding certain safety measures.
By the end of the third day, the Leviathan's scanners captured a big, yellowish planet with occasional green spots. Its official name was Gadus R, and the ship didn't take long to deal with the landing procedures and reach its orbit.
The Leviathan adjusted its position but remained outside the Gadus R's atmosphere. Meanwhile, a series of ships detached from it to dive toward the planet's surface. The rides weren't on autopilot but followed prearranged routes, eventually reaching the appointed landing area.
The soldier handed Khan a device that described the army's quarters' details. The place was nothing more than a glorified encampment near the fort, but its facilities were acceptable." "As for your quarters, Prince Khan," The soldier continued while Khan studied the device. "The stationed Major has already vacated hers. She hopes you'll rest in the settlement and accept her dinner invitation."

The soldier wanted to argue but didn't bother to try. Khan didn't even look at him, but the pressure he exuded was too much for that single warrior. Khan also donned his red cape and crown, creating an alien barrier between him and the human teams.
"As you wish, Prince Khan," The soldier accepted. "We have arranged refreshments in the army's quarters, and your rides will come shortly."
"They won't be needed," Khan stated, handing back the device before marching forward. The soldier didn't know what to say, but that issue soon left his mind. Khan didn't give any orders, but the Scalqa started marching behind him as soon as he moved. Those huge aliens looked ready to trample anything in their path, so the warrior hurried out of their way.
Similar scenes happened all around the landing area. The Scalqa advanced in an orderly manner, forcing the human teams to make way for their march. That imposing sight was outshined only by the person leading the battalion, but his figure soon disappeared behind a wall of bulging muscles.
The human teams quickly drew their devices to inform the parties interested in the matter, but a strange phenomenon interrupted their actions. The landing area's metal floor started to tremble as a rhythmical noise reached the soldiers' ears. An earthquake invaded the settlement, but its center gradually moved away, approaching the distant fort.
Gulps unfolded everywhere. The settlement's soldiers knew the battle's specifics, and some had even helped set up the fort's defenses. Reason put Khan's battalion at a complete disadvantage, but those biases crumbled now.
The alien battalion could make the ground tremble with its mere advance, so how could a fort endure its fury?
