Chapter 1058: No more
Chapter 1058: No more
Khan found himself in a barren mountain area far away from anything alive or that could even attempt to breathe.
The ground around Khan was a mess of cracks, broken boulders, and gorges, but he didn’t look at it, even if his eyes were fixed on it. Two wet trails slowly dried up from under them while memories played in his vision.
Khan understood why Monica had done what she had done and for what purposes. She had always looked out for him, and breaking up with him was her way of pushing him forward. Without Monica, Khan could truly be unbound, pursuing his goal without needing to look back or slow down for the sake of others.
However, it hurt like hell. Enjoy exclusive adventures from novelhall.Côm
Khan and Monica had been together for years, and she had long since become a core aspect of his life. He had built part of it around her, and the thought of losing her didn’t feel real. Khan could barely come to terms with the fact that he was alone again.
Truth be told, Khan had yet to realize that point fully. His love and affection didn’t diminish at all. He wanted nothing more than to set off and reunite with Monica at that exact moment. However, Khan didn’t. Monica had asked him not to, leading him to an unfathomable emptiness.
Khan felt so devoid of anything that made him feel alive that he didn’t bother to look for drinks. Khan didn’t want booze, food, or anything for that matter. He had no strength left in him. All his efforts had been for naught, leaving him broken.
The relationship with Monica had been nothing short of a constant struggle against powers far bigger than Khan. He had fought so much and hard, going against the political world and part of his nature to make that love bloom, which it did. Yet, everything had amounted to that debilitating grief.
Of course, the relationship had featured more than battles. Countless peaceful, cozy, and loving moments played in Khan’s vision. Thinking back on it, it was almost unbelievable how much he had shared with Monica and how much happiness she had given him.
However, those memories only added fuel to Khan’s grief. He was in no mood to appreciate everything he had received and look at the positive side. Khan only saw black now, making him yearn for physical pain to ignore the bitter feelings his heart produced.
’Love is hard,’ Khan concluded, ’But fighting is easy. I know fighting.’
Khan crossed his legs, straightening his back to adjust his sitting position. He felt devoid of any strength but focused anyway. His grief couldn’t freeze him anymore after making a profound, unconscious decision.
’No more distractions,’ Khan thought. ’No more compromises. No more recreational activities. No more peace. No more happiness.’
Some spots around Khan burst outward, exploding into a rain of debris and dust. The ground started to tremble but quickly calmed down, oppressed by something ethereal but far heavier than most physical objects.
’No more love,’ Khan stated in his mind before a thought tried to make his newfound decision waver.
Khan drew out his phone, unlocking it to open a secret folder. His collection of videos and pictures about Monica in questionable attires and positions had vastly expanded throughout the years. Still, those files had now become a reminder of what he had lost. Khan couldn’t keep them, both for his mental state and out of respect for Monica.
A single tear fell from Khan’s eyes as he tapped the delete command. He lost more than alluring memories and pictures that had kept him company during lonely times with that gesture. Removing that folder put a definitive end to his relationship with Monica, a step even his mind couldn’t deny anymore.
Khan watched the phone complete the command before cracks opened on its screen. The device crumbled, leaving nothing but metal shards in Khan’s grasp. They then broke again, becoming dust that Baoway’s calm wind blew away.
Khan then lifted his bandaged hand before stopping. He looked at it, his glowing eyes darting among his fingers, before lowering it. Seriousness flashed on his face as his concentration skyrocketed, only allowing one last thought before the training session could begin.
’I don’t need to use my hands,’ Khan decided while his influence started to affect the surrounding symphony. It took a while, but a glowing line eventually began to form in the air.
